The government offices of Placer County serve the citizens and visitors of Tahoe Vista, California. We often take for granted the many ways that these offices make life easier for the general public. For instance, these offices house Emergency Services, the Parks Department, the Water Authority, and the Health Department.

The Parks Department is a very important part of the Lake Tahoe region’s survival. The lake and surrounding mountains are the reason that people travel from far and wide to visit Tahoe Vista and possibly call it home. It is the job of the Parks Department to make sure that the parks and nature conservatories are free of debris and litter, and that there are no threats to the public.

The Health Department is also a very important part of the Tahoe Vista community. This organization is in place to regulate the health concerns of the county, to protect the children and other citizens from abuse, and to provide education on nutrition, illness prevention, and immunizations. The Public Works committee supervises the maintenance and cleanliness of the county. Any road construction, water line repair, and trash collection in the county is run by this organization. Any maintenance issues in Tahoe Vista would be directed to the Public Works office.

Of great importance, especially in an area that is so rich in outdoor activities and sporting events, are the Emergency Services. The men and women of the police department, fire department, and emergency rescue services work around the clock to make sure that all residents and visitors remain safe and receive excellent care.
