Amazing Art and Artists in Tahoe Vista

With such breathtaking surroundings, is it any wonder that artists and crafts makers from around the world flock to the Lake Tahoe area? The Tahoe Vista art galleries and those in the surrounding area bear witness to the incredible talent of the residents and visitors to Lake Tahoe’s beautiful shores.

There are several galleries in the North Lake Tahoe area to choose from, and all of them feature more than just watercolor and oil paintings. You’ll see sculpture, jewelry, stonework, prints, and wood carving by some of the most talented artisans in the area. If you’re in the mood for some fine art, check out Lake Tahoe Watercolors by Joyce Major, James Hacker Sculptures, Vista Gallery, Lakeside Gallery and Gifts, James Harold Galleries, and Morissa’s Gallery of Natural Art Minerals and Rocks. If you venture to South Lake Tahoe, you can visit A Frame of Mind Gallery and Jim Stamates Photography Collection.

Incline Village, Truckee, and Tahoe City all have a large number of art galleries, as well, including the Art Attack Gallery, Backstreet Framers and Gallery, Carmel Gallery, David Freeman Photography, Frank Rossbach’s Glasforms, JoAnne’s Stained Glass, and The Potlatch.

If it’s an art festival than you’re looking for, then there really is no better place than Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Arts Festival is held in July each year at the Tahoe Biltmore Lodge and Casino in Crystal Bay, Nevada. The festival is free to attend, and you’ll find many works of art for sale, plenty of food and entertainment, and lots of activities to keep the children occupied. Also in July is the Tahoe Arts Project Festival, which benefits art and music education in schools. It is held at the South Tahoe Middle School and includes jewelers, painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramics, and weavers.
