There is never a dull moment in Tahoe Vista, or any of the Lake Tahoe area, for that matter. Whether you’re searching for events that cater to adults or something fun for the entire family, you’re sure to find exciting activities that will make your visit memorable.
One of the biggest events in the Tahoe area is the Tahoe Arts Project Festival. This educational festival takes place in July at the South Tahoe Middle School, and it features photographers, sculptors, painters, and jewelers, among other artists. There is always something going on in Tahoe for the artist in all of us, so it’s not necessary to wait for July. Just check out the calendar before you visit, and you’ll find plenty of exciting events.
September brings the annual Autumn Food and Wine Festival, which is held at Northstar-at-Tahoe each year. This is an exciting event, with wine and food tastings, auctions, demonstrations, and entertainment. The gorgeous autumn weather provides the perfect setting for the outdoor festival.
Thespians will truly enjoy the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in July and August at Sand Harbor State Park. There are different presentations each year, but the promise of entertainment, laughter, and fun is always fulfilled. Wingfield Park also presents the Young Shakespeare series, with performances of the bard’s work tailored especially for children.
In addition, of course, there can be no Tahoe without skiing. For those that are looking for a fun and exciting winter event, complete with snow sports and entertainment, there is always the North Lake Tahoe Snow Festival. Called the Mountain Mardi Gras, the festival takes place in the spring every year and offers ten fun-filled days of music, skiing, pageants, great food, parades, an authentic Hawaiian luau, and art exhibits. You will find all the excitement you crave at any one of these festivals!
